Faith. Family. Formation.
At Sts. Peter and Paul School & Early Learning Center, everything we do flows from one central belief: each child is a gift, created by God, full of potential and purpose.
Since 1850, we’ve been serving families in Doylestown and the surrounding area by providing a Catholic education that nurtures both the soul and the mind. Today, we continue that mission with a strong academic foundation, a joyful learning environment, and a deep partnership with families—starting as early as six weeks of age through 2nd grade.
What We Believe
We’re more than a school—we’re a community shaped by shared values. These principles guide every classroom, every hallway, and every child’s journey:

Each child is unique
Created with distinct intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual gifts.

Parents are the primary educators
of their children, and we’re here to support that sacred role.

Education is a shared responsibility
among teachers, staff, families, parish members, and the local community.

High expectations lead to growth
we set clear goals and believe in every child’s ability to succeed.

Faith and academics go hand in hand,
with instruction that blends Catholic formation, traditional subjects, technology, and critical thinking.

Learning is not one-size-fits-all
we use a variety of tools and strategies to help students demonstrate understanding and apply what they’ve learned.

Growth is ongoing
our teachers and leaders are always learning, too, so they can give their best to your child and our school.
A Legacy of Faith and Excellence
The roots of Sts. Peter and Paul School go deep.
In 1850, Rev. Michael Schmitz—pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish—opened the first parish school for local children. Classes were originally held in a log building and taught in both English and German. From the beginning, our parish saw Catholic education not as an add-on, but as an essential part of family and parish life.
Over the next century, the school grew and evolved. A new two-room school building opened in 1910, followed by continued growth in facilities and enrollment. In 1951, the Sisters of Notre Dame arrived to serve as the core teaching staff—a partnership that would help shape the character and strength of the school for generations.
Today, our school remains a vibrant ministry of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish. Our programs continue to grow, including our Early Learning Center for infants through preschool and our elementary program through 2nd grade. Every year, we serve more families seeking a place where their child will be known, loved, and formed in the Catholic tradition.
